Bi Social Network Continues Growth into a Strong Bi Network for the Community

Bi Social Network has been growing in so many ways. New members have been signing up (averaging 10 per day), our website traffic has increased to 10-15,000 visitors a month, more people are signing up for our newsletter, and we have introduced new content: programs like Bi Talk Radio, mental health initiatives, and programs like the “I am Visible campaign”, unique niche contents, and will soon be introducing BSN TV. We have now reached a point where we need your help in order to continue to provide this valuable service to the bisexual community. We invite you to join us to make this a community initiative and to help us grow and to continue to exist.

What our money pays for

Each year we have expenses on servers, equipment, software, development, supplies, utilities, travel, writer’s fees, marketing and more. Many think we are a blog, but this isn’t true. We are a small network of key components that are paid and housed, created and designed to make sure everyone all around the nation can read bisexual content, have community and find a fun place that they can call their own. We talk about becoming a network. This reaches out all around the world. From Italy to Canada, Scotland and the UK, to Chicago, to New York City, and small towns in Ohio and small villages in Iceland—we are touching lives. Even though we are a service company, we are doing big things. I get letters from all walks, telling us to keep going and never give up. They tell me they are happy they’ve found us! Sadly, we now realize that one person can’t do it all. We need a collection of individuals—a special community that knows what we are doing and want us to continue doing it. Continue reading »

Subscribe to Our Network!

I want to thank our members who have joined our subscription membership, by making a monthly donation to the cause; we know you didn’t have too—but believe in what we are trying to do. We are so pleased that you think Bi Social Network is producing great content, and moving in the direction that you want to see in bisexual content on the web.

If we can be more helpful in making Bi social Network everything bisexuals around the world want to see regarding their community, please do not hesitate to contact me. We love feedback, good or bad. We know we can improve to make it even better!

We want to do more, and with your help, we are one step closer to making this a reality. Here are a few things we are trying to do with membership subscriptions, advertisers, sponsors—which is what we need to move forward to something even better.

Think about Bi Social Network as a small business who needs members to showcase bisexual lives and show the world how many visible bisexuals there are around the world. We have now reached 15,000 visitors a month. That’s great for a niche site, and we stand to become even larger as the ‘I am Visible‘ PSA Campaign kicks off on November 1, 2010. Many are now joining our member’s database, and that’s great!

Can We Get Hollywood to Support Us Like other LGBT Media Outlets?

I will give you a little peak that Bi Social Network received a little pat on the back from the entertainment set, but until we know more I just want to say, they think we are doing great! They are happy we are moving bisexuals forward and want to help lend a hand in becoming bigger in the eyes of the world. I was crying, last week I will admit, because when Bi Social Network started in December 1, 2008. We had 198 hits for a few months; I was donating all my things to the homeless and was packing things up because I lost everything in a job lost. This site was the product of trying to stay positive, while helping others see themselves. (There were days this site wasn’t going to make it) Now we are moving forward, and I have our readers to thank for that and our writers. (Maria being our first writer to join us, thanks!) Without everyone, we would be nothing.

But sadly, we can’t do it along without support. Bi Social Network is not just a Blog or website to rant about being invisible; we want to reach out to our community and partner with great causes, like the Trevor Project and help bisexual youths, and elderly who don’t fit into the gay or lesbian makeup. We want to be the place for bisexual entertainment content with Bloggers, columnist and artist all telling their stories by articles and other creative ways. We want to have events to celebrate our lives, without shame and the hated theme “but” I’m whatever bisexuals say when we have to defend ourselves time and time again. We want to be that mini, mini Oprah of bisexual content. Okay, that’s dreaming big, but why not?!

What We Want to Do:

  • A massive ‘I am Visible’ PSA campaign, that will get national attention and help our community have a positive outlook on their lives.
  • 15-paid contributing writers by end of 2011
  • Editors, Photographers and artist
  • Bi Talk Radio: Bigger, bolder, better and longer—weekly radio show.
  • Bisexual Film festival. End of 2012! We want to see it happen!
  • $10, $15 $20.00 monthly for most subscriptions. (6-month, yearly subscribers)
  • Individual sponsorships
  • Company sponsorships
  • Company advertising
  • Bisexual events thought-out the year (Wouldn’t it be cool to have a bi Cruise?)
  • Bi Social Publishing: Bisexual Books, ebooks and more
  • 200-400 paid subscribers by middle of next year.

As you can see by this list, it’s a challenge and something that makes us excited. This is our goal and our mission to see Bi Social Network grow into something we all want to see materialize, as we become a bisexual media outlet for the community.

For those that have started the ball rolling—we thank you! If you want to join in and help us become something great, think about subscribing to our content for a year—six months if you want to really try us out! See what we can do as we try to impress. We might not get it right the first time, but our goal is always to deliver great content and cool services.

Cheers,
